Murmur and vandl: Playing with Claude Agents

06 Feb 2026

Cloudflare shipped an Agents SDK and I wanted to play with it without spending real effort, so I built two multiplayer toys. All voice prompts in the terminal. No browser, no typing.

I've built plenty on Workers, and there's always a stretch of rereading the Durable Objects docs or relearning how WebSocket hibernation works. Claude fetched the docs and wrote that part, so I got to stay on what the app should do. Both apps share real-time state across users, which is usually where one weekend turns into three. These each went from zero to deployed in one sitting.

Murmur was an ambient soundscape. You type a feeling like "walking through rain" or "fluorescent office anxiety" and AI turns it into musical parameters that change what everyone hears. It has a WebGL visualizer because why not.

vandl was a shared wall of AI-generated street art. Type something, click a spot, and it sprays onto the wall for everyone. You can see other people's cursors. The wall reset every hour with a new background.

Both ran on Cloudflare Workers, Durable Objects, and Workers AI. They're offline now, but the code is on GitHub if you want to poke around. First thing in a while I shipped just for fun.
